The positive
aspects that came from the World Cup in Brazil was the soccer ball, yes! The
soccer ball had no controversies, unlike the Jabulani ball that had strikers
angered as it never followed the strikers intended direction, except that Diego Forlan and Keisuke Honda enjoyed playing with that ball. Alright then enough
bad mouthing the Fifa World Cup ceremony- the main reason why we watched the
World Cup was to see world class football, and top players representing their
respective countries… and represent is what they did, however I feel that the
players we expected to perform as they normally do in their club football teams
did not do so, such as; Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, and David Luiz to
mention but a few but the players who we didn’t expect to perform played as if
they have got something to prove or maybe they wanted to be noticed by
potential new clubs they may have wanted to join, I feel that they were playing
so hard for their countries and the glory that came with winning the World Cup.
A beautiful
factor that contributed to the World Cup is that there was unity amongst locals
and tourists who came to stadiums and fan parks in their numbers with one
common objective which was of course soccer, the stadiums were in good
condition of which seven were newly built and five renovated that had passionate,
loyal and loud fans that had no hooligans thankfully.

The new
technological systems were very helpful in this World Cup such as the Goal LineTechnology which is a system used to determine if the ball slightly crossed the
goal line with the assistance of electronic devices which at the same time
helps the referee in awarding the goal or not. Another new method used was the
vanishing spray that referees used to spray foam that vanished after a while to
somewhat control the positon of players defending the free kick and placement
of the soccer ball that is ready to be kicked towards the opposing side of the
net. I can truly say that I did enjoy the Fifa World Cup, what about you…
comment your opinions.

I also did enjoy the world cup in brazil and the fans were so amazing, even though the people of brazil were not happy with their federations for hosting a big tournament while their people are starving, but this did not prevent the home fans from rallying behind their team as they were there from the beginning of the tournament until the last game
ReplyDeleteThe people of Brazil had a right to be angry as some people live in impoverished areas who felt the money spent on the world cup preparations could have been used to help them, but the money they got from tourism can supplement the spending's and help create jobs that are sustainable.
Deleteto be honest the only thing I enjoyed about the world cup in brazil was the spectators and the fans who were cherishing their teams with bright colours.to comment on the big even that took place there which is the open and closing ceremony it was not up to the standard
ReplyDeleteBoitumelo, precisely... We only enjoyed all the colours of fans from across the world, amd seeing their emotions from happy to sad, but the closing ceremony as you mentioned was not up to standards.
DeleteI truly enjoyed the world cup, even though my home country didn't qualify for the tournament. The only challenge i had it was time, where lots of games started late at night due to time scale difference here in Africa and Brazil.
ReplyDeleteYes the time punished us with matches starting at 22:00, you reminded of the late nights-however it was worth the wait. As for South Africa not qualifying that's a blog on its own.
ReplyDeleteTime flies ey a month ago we were celebrating with the Germans for being the best national team in the world and as for me that's the most part I really enjoyed but other than that the goals were also fantastic and I also saw amazing talent from players like Rodriguez, Sanchez , Neymar not forgetting the best youngest player of the tournament Pogba
ReplyDeleteTrue when you say that time does flyn however we can relive the special matches and goals via repeats on SuperSpot and YouTube... Technology has made it seemless for us to share this videos too.
DeleteI'm no soccer fan and the world cup didn't even try to grab my attention this year, maybe it's because it wasn't so interesting afterall.. look now it's quiet, where has it all gone to?
ReplyDeleteI can understand you saying that the World Cup did not grab your attention, however I say that the actual games we're interesting and very exciting, but ist true when you say that it is quiet now and seems like it never.
DeleteI think this World Cup was marvelous because of the surprises and shocks we saw just like Germany beating Brazil 7 - 0 and Netherlands beating the Champions of 2010 Spain in their opening game 5-0.
ReplyDeletePlease Tebatso, do not remind me of the 7-0 thrashing of Brazil, that match still haunts me today... But the score differences between the big teams such as Brazil and Spain was ridiculous.
DeleteTo be honest I had no idea what happens in soccer, however this time around; with the FIFA World Cup I developed some kind of an interest. Especially following the Germany against Brazil soccer match. there was so much drama, and it was fun to watch. I really enjoyed it!! Thanks Siyabonga
ReplyDeleteI think you enjoyed the goal difference against Brazil, however it was an enjoyable affair.
Deletetruly speaking i did not enjoy that World Cup too, it wasn't exciting as the 2010 world cup. There was nothing interesting to talk about after the event.
ReplyDeletethere were interesting aspects about the world cup itself as Lionel Messi getting the golden boat undeservedly, however I understand where you are coming from
